SENECA NIAGARA CASINO TO UNVEIL SENECA SQUARE - Change reflects new direction in City's future

NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK - Seneca Niagara Casino announced today that the plaza located across from its front entrance will be renamed Seneca Square.

Formerly Lackey Plaza, Seneca Square now functions as both a parking facility and an outdoor entertainment venue for Seneca Niagara Casino.

"Seneca Niagara Casino will play an important role in the future of Niagara Falls, New York and the naming of Seneca Square helps reflect the new course upon which we have embarked," Barry E. Snyder, Sr., President of the Seneca Nation of Indians and Chairman of the Seneca Gaming Corporation, said. "Moreover, this helps Seneca Niagara Casino continue to create a true identity and destination in downtown Niagara Falls."

More than 7,000 people packed Seneca Square on Labor Day for a free outdoor concert featuring the Beach Boys. This year alone, the four concerts of the Casino's "Rock the Falls" free concert series and the three-day Thunder Falls Veterans Pow Wow were conducted in Seneca Square, each drawing large crowds. In addition, an average of 13,000 vehicles park in Seneca Square each month.

Seneca Niagara Casino is expected to install signage reflecting the new name in the coming weeks.

"Whether used for parking by the more than 6 million patrons who visited Seneca Niagara Casino last year, or to host a crowd of several thousand people for a concert, Seneca Square is a key piece of our operation," John Pasqualoni, President and CEO, Seneca Gaming Corporation, said. "We hope the new name for the property helps our patrons and the community more readily identify Seneca Square as part of the entire Seneca Niagara Casino venue."

Seneca Niagara Casino is New York State's first full-service casino featuring reel-spinning and video slot machines. Just a few blocks from world-famous Niagara Falls, the casino is located at 310 Fourth Street. The 112,590 square-foot gaming floor houses more than 3,200 slot machines and 98 table games. A separate smoke-free casino, Turtle Island, is also available to patrons, along with the Poker Room and the high-stakes Blue Heron Room.

In addition to gaming, Seneca Niagara Casino offers several restaurants including Thunder Falls Buffet, Morrie's Place and The Western Door: A Seneca Steakhouse. The Bear's Den Showroom, a 443-seat showroom-style theater, and Club 101, a unique music venue located in the heart of the gaming floor, provide live entertainment. Free parking is available to patrons through complimentary valet services, self-parking areas, and a four-story garage with covered walkway. The Casino is owned and operated by the Seneca Nation of Indians.
