THE BEST OF THE SECOND CITY TO BRING COMEDY STYLE TO SENECA NIAGARA CASINO
NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK - Laughter will erupt from Seneca Niagara Casino when The Best of The Second City comes to town for an 8-show, 6-night run. The renowned comedy group will perform in The Bear's Den showroom from Tuesday, August 30 - Sunday, September 4.
The Second City comedy group opened in Chicago in 1959. From there, the company changed the world of comedy forever by establishing improvisational comedy as a true entertainment art form. The Second City Toronto opened in 1973 and has been a force in the comedy world ever since.
"The comedic talent produced by The Second City is recognized the world over," John Pasqualoni, President & CEO, Seneca Niagara Casino, said. "This show will be a unique opportunity to enjoy world-class improvisational comedy in a fantastic setting."
When the hit television show Saturday Night Live debuted in 1975, Second City alumni John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner played a central role in the show's success. Fellow Second City alum Bill Murray joined the cast a year later. The Second City alumni list also includes such legends as John Candy, Eugene Levy, Mike Myers, Martin Short and Chris Farley.
Show times for The Best of The Second City are 8:00 p.m. August 30 - September 1; 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2; 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 3; and 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4. Tickets for all shows are $20 and are on sale now.
Seneca Niagara Casino is New York State's first full-service casino featuring reel-spinning and video slot machines. Just a few blocks from world-famous Niagara Falls, the casino is located at 310 Fourth Street. The 112,590 square-foot gaming floor houses more than 3,200 slot machines and 98 table games. The Casino is owned and operated by the Seneca Nation of Indians.
