CASINO BRINGING COLE TO CONFERENCE CENTER

NIAGARA FALLS, NY, February 2005 - Songbird Natalie Cole is winging her way to Conference Center Niagara Falls courtesy of Seneca Niagara Casino on Saturday, April 16 for a single performance at 9 p.m. Tickets are $30, $40 and $50 and available at SenecaNiagaraCasino.com, Eight Clans Gift Shop, ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations, including Kaufmann's stores.

Cole was born in Los Angeles in 1950 into musical royalty. Her legendary father, Nat "King" Cole, was one of the most popular entertainers of the 1940s and 1950s. Her mother, Maria Hawkins, once sang with Duke Ellington's orchestra. Natalie made her professional debut at the age of 10 in the musical "Sights and Sounds: The Merry World of Nat King Cole." Two years later, she was the lead singer in a teenage jazz trio called the Malibu Music Men.

In 1965, after her father died, she and her family moved from California to Massachusetts.

After receiving a degree in child psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, she was singing in area clubs. In 1974, she signed with Capitol, her father's former record label. Her album "Inseparable" was released the following year and went Gold, while singles "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" and the title track hit the Billboard® Rhythm and Blues chart. She garnered two Grammys® in 1976, including Best New Artist. Her second album, "Natalie," also in 1976, turned Gold and earned another Grammy® for her third rhythm and blues number one hit "Sophisticated Lady (She's A Different Lady)."

The same year, Cole married her co-producer/songwriter Marvin Yancy and two years later had a son, Robert Adam. "Unpredictable" in 1977 became Cole's first Platinum album. It produced another chart topper, "I've Got Love On My Mind." "Thankful" the following year sold more than a million copies as did another number one hit, "Our Love." She was on a roll and in 1978, "The Natalie Cole Special" was televised and produced the Gold-selling double album "Natalie Live!" In 1979, she released "I Love You So" and "We're The Best of Friends," that also featured soul vocalist Peabo Bryson.

In 1987, two years after releasing the album "Dangerous," Cole released "Everlasting," which produced three hit singles, including her cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac." Her "Good To Be Back" in 1989 held another Top Ten hit, "Miss You Like Crazy."

Probably her greatest success came with "Unforgettable, With Love" in 1991. She recorded electronically engineered duets with her late father. The album topped the Billboard® Album chart and sold more than 10 million copies. She received seven Grammy® nominations, winning five awards, including Best Album, Best Song and Record of the Year. The 1993 release of "Take A Look" added another Grammy® to her collection for Best Vocal Performance.

In 1994, she added acting to her portfolio with appearances in "Lily In Winter," "Always Outnumbered" and "Freak City." Next she penned her autobiography, "Angel on My Shoulder" and, as executive producer, NBC aired her life biography.

Her latest release, "Ask A Woman Who Knows" in 2002, was recorded at the Forum in London. This live show offers an array of jazz classics and modern standards, including "Let's Face The Music And Dance," "My Baby Just Cares For Me," "Route 66" and many more. Several duets with Diana Krall are included, as well as a moving rendition of her fathers song "This Will Be."

Cole is one of the few amazing artists who have managed to effortlessly blend jazz and pop with a very personal and ever-soulful approach. She brings sensitivity, sass and soul to every song she sings.
