CASINOS SEEKING TALENTED POKER PLAYERS FOR $20 MILLION PRIZE
Niagara Falls, NY, November 2004 - The baseball World Series may be over but the 2005 World Series of Poker is just beginning. Seneca Niagara Casino and Seneca Allegany Casino have begun hosting World Series of Poker No Limit Texas Hold'em satellite tournaments. It is part of the 2005 World Series of Poker, which is expected to have a worldwide field of 7,000 for the finals next spring in Las Vegas, generating a prize pool of $70 million and a first place prize of $20 million.
Every Thursday now through April, Seneca Niagara Casino and Seneca Allegany Casino are hosting the regional No Limit Texas Hold'em games of 11 people per table, approximately every hour between 10 a.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Poker players can register every Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. by paying the $40 entry fee. Each satellite is held on a first come first served basis. The winner from each satellite is invited back at a later date to play with approximately 40 other winners in the semi-final playoff tournaments. An estimated 12 finalists, six from each casino, will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas, $1,000 in cash and their $10,000 Buy-In to the 2005 World Series of Poker finals scheduled for June 3 through July 15, 2005 at the Rio in Las Vegas. The championship will take place at Binion's Horseshoe, also in Las Vegas.
