ACTOR/SINGER AIELLO TUNING UP FOR SENECA NIAGARA CASINO

Niagara Falls, NY, September 2004 - Oscar-nominated actor Danny Aiello moves from the big screen to the big time as he sings the classics at 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 8, 9 and 10 at Seneca Niagara Casino's Bear's Den Showroom. Tickets for the Columbus Day weekend show are $20 and can be purchased at SenecaNiagaraCasino.com, Eight Clans Gift Shop, Tickemaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations, including Kaufmann's stores.

Danny Aiello is probably best recognized for his endearing portrayal of Cher's jilted fianc in "Moonstruck." As 'Sal' in Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing," Aiello also received unanimous acclaim including Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actor.

But this was before the 71-year-old came onto the scene with a new career as a jazz sensation. Aiello is not only a great actor, he's a great singer. Just five days after the April 2004 release of his debut album, "I Just Want To Hear The Words," he leapt on to the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart at number four, the highest new entry of that week, just behind Harry Connick, Jr., Wynton Marsalis and Diana Krall.

The album is a collection of 14 classics, including some of his favorites such as "All Of Me," "You Belong To Me," "The Curtain Falls," "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself a Letter" and "I Can Dream, Can't I?"

A classic late bloomer, Aiello didn't have his first union acting job until he was 40. He worked as, among other things, a baggage handler, a union representative and a bouncer before appearing on film in "Bang The Drum Slowly" in 1973 and making his Broadway debut three years later in "Lamppost Reunion."

Ironically, in singing - his first love - he took much longer to arrive, in part because of his own apprehensions. "I did it now," he said, "simply because life was passing by, and singing is a dream I've had for a long period of time. The funny thing is, I never had a dream to be an actor, because I didn't think that could ever be a part of my life."

Since the release party for the album in April at Manhattan's Rainbow Room, he hasn't had a thing to worry about as audiences truly appreciate his singing as well as acting talents.
