YOU'LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER PERFORMER LIKE LOU RAWLS

Niagara Falls, NY, August 2004 - Lou Rawls, the sultry singer of classic hits including "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine," graces the Seneca Niagara Casino's Bear's Den Showroom at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 1. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at SenecaNiagaraCasino.com, Eight Clans Gift Shop, Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster locations, including Kaufmann's stores.

Lou Rawls, who has been described by fans and critics alike as part jazz, part blues, part soul and all cool, hails from the south side of Chicago. His singing career began at age 7 in 1942 as a member of his Baptist church gospel choir followed by harmonizing with high school classmate Sam Cooke as part of the Teenage Kings of Harmony. As a young man he served in the Army for several years then made a beeline for Los Angeles where he turned his attention to pop music.

Rawls made his debut at the Hollywood Bowl in 1959 with Dick Clark. He signed with Capitol Records in 1961 and shortly afterwards was singing backup for Sam Cooke on "Bring It On Home," where Rawls' throaty counterpoint punctuated his colleague's sweet lead vocal. Rawls transcended the styles of rhythm and blues, pop and soul and he soon began hitting the pop singles chart on his own with songs such as "Love Is A Hurtin' Thing" in 1966, followed by "World Of Trouble," "Dead End Street," "Your Good Thing (Is About To End)" and "Tobacco Road" to round out the decade. His talking-style vocals are said to be a forerunner of "rap."

The 1970s began with a Top 20 hit and GRAMMY win with "Natural Man." Frank Sinatra praised Rawls as having "the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game." "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine," an international and signature hit, delivered a "Philly sound" of the 1970s. The album "Unmistakable Lou" gave Rawls his first album GRAMMY in 1977. In 1976 his extraordinary voice led to a position as the corporate spokesman for Anheuser-Busch in numerous Budweiser commercials.

The 1980s expanded Rawls' career further. He brought his talents to children's programming, becoming the singing voice of the animated feline Garfield. He was one of the voices in the hit "Rugrats: The Movie" and is the voice of the Postman on Nickelodeon's "Hey Arnold." He continued to use his talents on-camera with an acting career including film and television. His most notable projects include "Leaving Las Vegas," "Blues Brothers 2000," and a recurring role on "Baywatch Nights." In 2001, he produced and starred in a musical titled "Me and Mrs. Jones" for nearly four months worth of sold out shows at Prince Theatre in Philadelphia. Play producers are in the planning stages of a national road tour.

In 1998, Rawls started his own record label, Rawls & Brokaw Records, with long-time manager David Brokaw. He released his first CD on his own label, "Seasons 4U," a 14-song compilation. This was followed by a two-volume set entitled "The Best Of Lou Rawls."

His voice is as distinctive and instantly recognizable as any in music. In 40 years as a recording artist, spanning an astonishing 60 plus albums, 13 GRAMMY Award nominations, one Platinum album, five Gold albums and a Gold single, Rawls has become one of industry's true superstars.
