For 40 years, Johnny Winter has been a guitar hero. In 1969, he laid out the blueprint for his fresh take on classic blues with a powerful combination of authentic Texas funk and his own high energy interpretation for the legions of fans just discovering the blues via the likes of Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Johnny has always been one of the most respected singers and influential guitar players in rock, not to mention the clear link between British blues rock and American Southern rock ala the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. With almost 40 albums of classic rock and blues under his belt, this guitar hero produced and played on a series of Grammy award winning albums with the group Muddy Waters in the 70’s. His recent I’m a Bluesman album was also nominated for a Grammy. Performing now with a renewed vigor and fire, to say that Johnny is back would be an understatement. In fact, he never left. He is just better and bigger than ever!

Five-time Grammy Award winner, with 35 years of blues mastery, Robert Cray brings an indefinable sound to the stage. In 1974, when the time came for Cray to move his sound in another direction on the foot of a widely praised collection, he found what he was looking for when he turned to an old friend and colleague, Richard Cousins, who began his tenure as bassist in Cray’s band. Such early albums as Strong Persuader and Don’t be Afraid of the Dark were both winners of best contemporary blues performance Grammy. Cray’s latest album, This Time, sent him back on the road in 2009 with concert appearances in Brazil and Japan, along with several stops around the United States. The music on This Time includes punchy outings like “Chicken in the Kitchen” and “That’s What Keeps Me Rockin’” should satisfy even the most demanding blues fans!
